Make a videogame solo or with a team over the weekend! Eat pizza, win prizes, make friends & learn new skills! It's game jam time! Create a video or board game based on a specific theme within 48 hours - with a team, or solo.
Held IN-PERSON at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Saskatoon Campus 1130 Idylwyld Dr N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 3R5
FREE PARKING in event parking lot or along street
It's FREE if you're a student ANYWHERE. $10 registration fee for non-students to cover prizes and two pizza lunches (Saturday 12pm, Sunday 12pm). If you have dietary restrictions, email me.
If you don't have a computer to bring, Saskatchewan Polytechnic have generously supplied FREE use of lab computers. FREE wifi is also available. USB game controllers will also be available for use (but not to take home).
Friday Sep 18: 19:00-19:30 Welcome announcements and Keynote video; 19:30-20:00 Getting to know each other / ice breakers / group forming; 20:00-20:30 Group pitches; 20:30 onwards Teams start jamming; 23:59 Doors close. Saturday Sep 19: 07:00 Doors unlocked; 12:00 Pizza lunch and presentation: Putting the FUN in tutorials - Justin Matheson, CEO & Founder of Rift Education; 23:59 Doors close. Sunday Sep 20: 07:00 Doors unlocked; 12:00 Pizza lunch and presentation: TBA; 15:30 BOARDGAMES ARE JUDGED; 16:00 TEST YOUR BUILDS, write entry pages for itch.io website, create and upload trailers; 17:00 JAM IS DONE! Play each other's games, give feedback. Please invite friends + family to try out all the games; 18:30 Awards ceremony, give out prizes!
