about this event
Hack Western is Canada's premier student-run hackathon, bringing together hundreds of students from across North America to learn, build, and create something meaningful in just 36 hours.
This year, at Hack Western 13, we're celebrating exploration with our theme:
Discover the unknown.
From November 20-22, 2026, students of all experience levels will come together to design and develop projects across web, mobile, hardware, AI, design, sustainability, and more. Whether you're here to explore a new technology, prototype an idea you've been sitting on, or simply meet new people and try something new - this is your space.
We'll have workshops, mentors, activities, hardware access, sponsor challenges, and plenty of opportunities to learn and connect. All you need to bring is your curiosity and willingness to build.
No matter your background or experience, you belong here - and we can't wait to see what you discover. 🏞️🚀
