Alberta Game Jam 2026 (Calgary Site)

Alberta Game Jam 2026 is a paid three-day game jam event running September 25-27. The first day takes place at the Platform Innovation Centre (Platform Calgary), while Saturday and Sunday are hosted at the Alexandra Dance Hall.

What to expect: a theme is revealed at launch to zap you with creativity; networking with other artists, musicians, and programmers to click with; light snacks to munch and crunch (lunch and breakfast snacks provided).

What's new this year: a panel of special guest judges will select a winner, and there will be door prizes — a couple of passes to the Royal Tyrrell Museum will be given away during the games showcase on Sunday the 27th.

What to bring: any equipment you need to contribute in your way, whether that's a computer, a tablet, or a pad of paper; good vibes and creativity.

Schedule: Friday at Platform Calgary — 3:00 PM check-in, 6:00 PM opening remarks and theme reveal, 10 PM time to go home. Saturday at Alexandra Dance Hall — 10:00 AM coffee and breakfast, 1:00 PM lunch (sandwiches), 10:00 PM time to go home. Sunday at Alexandra Dance Hall — 10:00 AM coffee and breakfast, 1:00 PM lunch (pizza), 3:30 PM games due, 4:00 PM public showcase (no tickets required to attend), 6:00 PM end of event.

Early bird tickets are available until September 20th. Tickets for the Calgary site are available via showpass, with separate ticketing for the Edmonton site and a free remote site option.
